Welcome to the World of Flight Ukuleles

All NU series models are made of Sapele wood, which has an interesting brown wood grain with golden-walnut shades. Sapele wood is a close relative with premium Mahogany wood, widely known for its warm sound qualities. Laminated top is very low in maintenance, and the fact that each uke comes with a quality gigbag makes it a perfect travel companion. The price of NU series is very affordable, however, the wood and build quality puts them above other entry level ukuleles.

The model names can be deciphered as follows: N stands for NEW, while U stands for UKULELE. The third letter stands for size:
  • S - soprano
  • C - concert
  • T - tenor
  • B - baritone

In this way, 4 models are named NUS, NUC, NUT, NUB. If you are looking for a quality instruments to help you start your ukulele journey - look no further than our NU series.

FLIGHT DU is a designer ukulele series, with each instrument featuring a unique design/decorative pattern. DU series offer all four ukuleles sizes – that is, from small to large: soprano, concert, tenor and baritone. The DU models are available in several variations, differing in size and wood type. The selection includes spruce, zebrawood and mahogany top. You can also choose between laminated and solid-wood tops. The back and sides can be either made of mahogany or zebrawood (so named for its characteristic stripy wood grain). Solid-top ukulele is a more expensive instrument of higher quality; it requires careful maintenance, proper humidity and temperature. The laminated-top option is less demanding and more weather-resistant, making it the perfect choice if you are looking for an instrument for travelling. All our ukuleles come with high-quality gigbags of a soft sandy color, ensuring maximum protection for your uke.

From the model name it is very easy to work out its size and type of wood. DU is a name of the series, where D stands for Designer and U stands for Ukuleles. The third letter means the size of the uke.
  • S - soprano
  • C - concert
  • T - tenor
  • B - baritone

Four sizes of the series will be spelled like this:  DUS, DUC, DUT and DUB. Number 3 after the letters means laminated top, number 4 exotic wood and number 5 means top made of solid wood. Next two are the model numbers. The last letters in the name mean the type of wood of top, back and sides. After that it will be indicated whether the ukulele has a pickup or not – if it is equipped with a pickup it will have CEQ.

Here's how to figure out the different materials used for making the ukulele from the model number.

  • MAH - Mahogany
  • MAN - Mangowood
  • AB - African burl Amara
  • Amara - Amara Wood
